About Us
Gabriel Dumont Local #11 is a local of the Métis Nation – Saskatchewan, representing Métis in the city of Saskatoon and surrounding area.
Established in the late 1960s, Gabriel Dumont Local #11 is one of the oldest Métis locals in the province of Saskatchewan. Since its founding, the Local has undergone significant change and periods of inactivity. In February 2018, the Local reorganized with a new governance intent on re-invigorating its membership by providing Métis cultural and educational programming.
The mission of Gabriel Dumont Local #11 is to revitalize our Métis/Michif members by creating a welcoming, respectful, and safe environment to experience our language, culture and traditional teachings in Saskatoon.
